it's all about who you know

So, it was not just today, but in the last couple of weeks, I've gotten
free beer, pasta, other food, and a show, all because of who I know. I
think it's really cool, that who I know can get me all kinds of free
perks. that's one of the benifits, I guess, of knowing a lotof people on
campus and off.

So, I'm watching Black hawk dwn right now, and I'm a little bit drunk.
That said, every time I watch this movie I occelate between wanting to
joinj the army, and being horrified atthe truths of war. IDK, I am very
comfortable with the idea of the military lifestyle, I think I'd actually
enjoy a large part o it. That said, some of this stuff scares the living
shit out of me. A big part of the problem, I think, is that I wouldn't be
happy just joining the navy or something (seriously, who's died in the
navy since the USS Cole?), I'd have to join the Army. I think I'd pd well
enough on my ASVAB to end up in a noncombat poition, but whatever my MOS,
there's still a good (or is it bad) chance I'd end up in a dusty country
with brown people shooting at me. I think the problem is, my romantic
notions of the military lifesyle are too persistant... Idk, I'm too drunk
for this right now.
